27th  Boulder City Fine Arts Festival

Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd, 2012

from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day

in Boulder City's beautiful Bicentennial Park.

130+ artists from the seven southwest states served by the Colorado River Region (Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah) exhibit their work in an outdoor setting.

Burks, a native Nevadan, took her first photography class at the University of Nevada, Reno back in the early 80’s and it wasn’t long before she set up a darkroom in her home.  Over the years she has taken numerous classes and workshops throughout the western United States.  After approximately 20 years of working with film, she finally joined the digital age.  Today, all her work reflects the modern methods of digital capture and printing.  Five years ago, she began exploring infrared photography.  Today, her work primarily focuses on black-and-white, infrared images.
